Dressing to Impress & the dapper men of Scandinavia

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder then my eyes were privy to lots of eye candy while in Oslo. Especially when it comes to the men of the country.

Old, young, middle-aged, you name it and they were all dressed to the nines.

As an American college student that has to see a bevy of poorly dressed guys everywhere I look this change was a very pleasant one.

The men of Norway and also Sweden, where I spent a weekend, often took more pride in their appearance than most men that I have ever seen and this is something that American men should take notice of.

For example, a majority of the men my age were consistently dressed in nice jeans, shoes and pressed shirts or t-shirts that didn’t offed anyone.

While I know that fashion for men is far more limiting than it is for women these men have significantly showed up any American man.

As a young woman living on a  college campus the majority of men here tend to wear one of three outfits ranging from a raggedy old t-shirt with sweat stains from working out in them and basketball shorts, too baggy jeans and an ill-fitting button down or random hoodies and a pair of ill-fitting jeans of shorts.

“So okay, I don’t want to be a traitor to my generation and all but I don’t get how guys dress today. I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair – ew – and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, we’re expected to swoon? I don’t think so.” – Cher Horowitz, Clueless

At least the men of Scandinavia put effort in to their apparel, and for that I am grateful.
